The trained sociologist and environmental engineer has been working in the construction and real estate industry since 1990. In 2015, Horvath set up his own company, Hand, to break new ground in urban development. His last project, the “Graumann Quarter”, won the Green and Blue Building Award and the Climate Ministry’s Earth Prize. The project tackled land consumption and urban sprawl and realized many innovations, such as the attempt to start the mobility turnaround in a secondary city.2023 Horvath founded the Agenda43 think tank, which explores the relevant issues of social coexistence in a high-quality culture of discourse. Hannes Horvath previously held various management positions, including at Durst-Bau and Hochtief Development-Austria, both subsidiaries of the global group Hochtief AG, as well as at the real estate subsidiary and several holdings in municipal real estate companies of an Austrian bank. Horvath is a board member of FIABCI Austria, jury chairman and initiator of the Prix D’Excellnce Austria and member of the international jury of the Prix D’Exellnce. Horvath is a member of the industry associations RICS and ÖVI as well as the Manner Club. He also publishes regularly in specialist media and gives relevant lectures.
