Sigmar Gabriel is former Federal Foreign Minister, Chairman of Atlantik-Br\u00fccke and a convinced European. <\/span><\/p>\n

He has been politically active since his youth and has been a member of the SPD since 1977. He was Minister President of Lower Saxony from 1999 to 2003 and a member of the German Bundestag for 14 years from 2005. <\/span><\/p>\n

As a member of the Federal Government, he was Federal Minister for the Environment (2005-2009), Federal Minister for Economic Affairs (2013-2017) and Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs (2017-2018). He was Vice-Chancellor from 2013 to 2018 and also Chairman of the SPD from 2009 to 2017. <\/span><\/p>\n
