With Martin Rhonheimer, re.comm 26 welcomes a renowned philosopher and economic thinker who challenges established ideas and opens up new perspectives on the interplay between the state, the economy, and society.

Between Philosophy and Economics

Martin Rhonheimer is a philosopher, priest, and one of the leading proponents of a liberal-oriented philosophy of economics and society. From 1990 to 2020, he taught as a professor of ethics and political philosophy at the Pontifical University of Santa Croce in Rome, where he remains affiliated as a visiting professor to this day.

As co-founder and president of the Austrian Institute of Economics and Social Philosophy, he is deeply engaged with issues of economic and social policy. His work focuses in particular on the Austrian School of Economics, the importance of individual freedom, and the ethical foundations of a functioning market economy.

Freedom, Responsibility, and the Role of the State

Martin Rhonheimer takes a clear stance: He advocates for the principles of the market economy and individual responsibility, and views the growing role of the state with skepticism. In doing so, he combines economic considerations with philosophical and ethical questions.

As the author of numerous scholarly publications and books that have been translated internationally, he has been exploring the foundations of a free society for decades.
