Maher Al Kaabi is a visionary leader and seasoned banker with over 30 years of experience in banking, IT and family businesses. He has extensive expertise in Board of Directors, Islamic banking, corporate and retail banking, risk management, finance, operations & technology, sales & distribution and business development. He serves on various company boards, is actively involved in numerous start-ups and is co-founder of Blink.
He is currently an advisor to the Chairman of the Al Serkal Group of Companies (a 165+ year old family business) where he serves as an independent board member. His strengths lie in developing impact-oriented and commercial strategies and working with government leaders and the private sector.
He works intensively with various ministries on future technologies, circular economy and the sustainability of family businesses, particularly through the training of the next generation (NextGen) in the Venture Studio module. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and other institutions.

Previously, he worked for Citigroup for over 14 years, where he held various management positions in Germany and abroad. He was then Chief Risk Officer at Dubai Bank, then Group Head of Islamic Banking at Emirates NBD and Group Head Chief Operating Officer in Group Wholesale Banking. He has also been honored with numerous international awards.
He is currently working on his doctorate in the field of AI-driven sustainability.
